Canada-Hong Kong Tax Treaty

Canada and Hong Kong have signed a double taxation treaty incorporating OECD information exchange provisions. Tax paid by companies and individuals in Hong Kong will be allowed as a credit against tax payable in Canada, and withholding tax on cross-border interest. Royalty payments will also be reduced from 25 per cent to 10 per cent.
